Job Title: Cleaning Supervisor – Days
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £11.58 per hour
Shift Times: Days, Monday – Friday 06:00-14:00
We are recruiting for an experienced Day Supervisor based in Central London managing the day-to-day cleaning operation for up to 15 full time staff, across two adjacent sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist management with cleaning operations for the site.
- Manage and maintain cleaning equipment to high standards, report damage and defective equipment and machinery.
- Provide handover reports and information for weekly/monthly reports to management, as required.
- Deliver requirements from daily handover and provide feedback of the completion of tasks.
- Prioritise health and safety of staff, customers, and members of the public at all times.
- Ensure compliance by maintaining contract documentation to keep it up to date.
- Ensure the contract is operating to meet and exceed the required specification and performance.
- Make sure of the smooth running of night cleaning operations by deploying staff appropriately.
- Complete ECAT quality audits against the specification to improve standards and meet the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) frequency requirements.
- Train, induct and supervise the work of cleaning operatives/housekeepers.
- Have a hands-on approach and be prepared to help, guide and support operatives to achieve required levels of service.
- Endorse new company initiatives and implement them on site.
- Select and recruit employees following company procedures, requesting line manager approval when required.
- Maintain stock levels and highlight material/equipment requirements.
- Support preparation of payroll submission and ensure that all relative documentation is prepared within the prescribed deadlines and budget controls.
- Provide feedback to the Cleaning Team regarding their performance and service levels.
- Organise and deliver weekly Toolbox Talks, keep records of subject and attendance.
- Deliver refresher training as identified in the training analysis schedule.
- Conduct first line investigations as needed for people processes.
- Comply with the company accident reporting procedure and promptly assist and accurately complete the relevant documentation ready for submission to the contract administrator.
- Respond to emergency situations, ensuring minimal disruption to service delivery, and take lead as the company representative.
- Report any building faults to the Omnicom/JLL Facilities team and apply signage as appropriate.
Credentials/Training & Experience required:
- At least 3 years’ experience as a working supervisor/Team Leader and intermediate level of Microsoft Office package – Word, Excel & Outlook
- You should be flexible and adaptable to change
- Confident and effective communicator
- Solution focused and work to correct any issues that arise, adopt common sense to approach
- Excellent customer service skills
